Postmarked: 9 May 1913 Houston, Texas
Stamp: 1c Green George Washington #405 To: Mr. W. L. Garrison c/o F. W. Woolworth Co. Fort Worth, Tex Message: Am enjoying my last move very much and hope they leave me here for a while. Business is slow but we have hopes. Smith and I are still on speaking terms. Regards to the bunch. P. M. Baldwin |
William L. Garrison was the manager of the F. W. Woolworth store in Fort Worth in 1912 and 1914, and probably had been transferred into the store from another in the national chain of outlets. He cannot be located prior or subsequent from his record in Fort Worth. It is reasonable to think that P. M. Baldwin and Smith were also Woolworth employees sharing a work experience in Fort Worth, but finding them in Houston has been elusive. It seems that all three men had only a peripheral connection to Houston history, and all moved on to other situations soon after this postcard.
